Frequently Asked Questions
A: Drop us a message and we can book in your first lesson! We have several practice chanters available to use in the first lesson, but it's highly encouraged to purchase your own practice chanter to play with at home. We will assist you in purchasing your first practice chanter!
A: Our studio is located near the MAS Museum in Antwerp, easily accessible by car, bicycle, or public transportation.

A: We start out on the practice chanter - a much easier version of the bagpipes - where you learn the basics and a few tunes. As soon as you have a few fingerings down we can get started training on the bagpipes themselves.
Typically it takes about 3-6 months to be able to play the pipes at a basic level.
A: The fingering system of the bagpipes is pretty straight forward, we only have 9 notes! However, the bagpipes themselves are a very physical instrument and require a bit of time before you feel comfortable on them. It is a challenge at first, but one well worth facing!
A: All ages are welcome! Generally around the age of 7 - 9 is the youngest age, and as long as you have a healthy set of lungs there is no limit!
A: The practice chanter is what you start with and that usually runs around €80 for a solid instrument.
The Great Highland Bagpipes cost anywhere between €1200 - €2000 for a quality set. Do not purchase anything below €1000, they will be poor quality and lead to more frustration than happiness.
A: Drop us a line with your contact information, a bit about your school and we will get in touch to discuss further!
